>TV Schedule

>This just in from a CCHA office staffer who said Miami will again have several games on regional and national television this year in addition to the schedule of home games on ONN. ONN is planning to televise all home games not otherwised televised, so the entire home season will be on TV somewhere.

The national/regional games are:

November 15 at Michigan State – Comcast Local

November 22nd vs. Michigan (7:05pm) – Comcast Local

December 7th at Western Michigan- ESPNU

January 9 at Michigan – FSN Plus (Detroit Production)

January 10 at Michigan – Comcast Local

January 16th vs. Michigan State (8:05pm) – CBS College Sports

January 17th vs. Michigan State (5:05pm) – CBS College Sports

January 23 at Nebraska-Omaha – CBS College Sports

January 24 at Nebraska-Omaha – CBS College Sports

I’ve also learned that the following game time changes are being made to the following home games for television:

Friday, October 31st will be at 7:05pm, instead of 7:35pm

Friday, November 7th will be at 7:05pm, instead of 7:35pm

>Kings/Coyotes Rookie Series: Day 2

>Just a few notes here, from looking at the boxscore:

– Alec Martinez was a scratch, as he played last night.

– Jeff Zatkoff (pictured, in goal) started for LA, and gave up two goals, the first to Chad Kolarik on the powerplay and the other to Daine Todd.

>Kings/Coyotes Game Re-Cap

>

Game Notes:

– Jeff Zatkoff did not dress for LA tonight as he was a healthy scratch.

– Alec Martinez (pictured near top of crease) started on the top defensive pairing for LA and also worked on LA’s powerplay.

– Martinez looked very good in transition. Such a fluid skater. Played the body and held his defensive ground very well.

Other Thoughts:
– Kevin Porter and Chad Kolarik played on the same line for Phoenix and on the power play together. Their chemistry was frighteningly good, as it has been.

>Catching Up With Andy Greene

>Great article at this link from the New Jersey Devils. They’ve done a “catching up” off season interview with Andy Greene. Here is a short preview:

“I’ve had a good summer. I’ve been working out and training hard with [Devils strength and conditioning coordinator] Mike Vasalani, and I’m feeling confident about the shape I’m in both mentally and physically. I’m hoping to use everything I’ve done this summer to go right into training camp and into the season ready to have a good year.”

Also, you can see some video of Andy “in-action” with the Devils below:

>Reminder: Kings/Coyotes Game Online Tonight

>Just as a reminder to those of you who almost forgot (myself), the LA Kings vs. Phoenix Coyotes rookie game will be broadcast online tonight at 9pm EST.

For those who are interested in the rosters for each team, here is the link.

Zatkoff will wear 36 and Martinez will wear 53 for the LA Kings.

You can visit either the Kings or the Coyotes website to watch the game broadcast.

>Blue Jackets Training Camp Comes to Oxford

>According to the Columbus Blue Jackets official web site, the team will wrap up it’s 2008 training camp in…none other than Oxford, Ohio.

Here is the link to the article. The only important part reads:

The team will conclude its preparations for the season with team building and on-ice practices in Oxford, Ohio from October 6-8.

You can view the training camp schedule at this link. No times have been posted yet for the Jackets workouts in Oxford.

It’ll be very interesting to see how this pans out and if it’s open to the public.

>Boyle Ranked Top Fantasy Defenseman

>For you fantasy hockey guru’s out there, Dan Boyle has been ranked the top defenseman to select on fantasy draft day. Here is the assessment of the former RedHawk blue liner:

What’s this? Brian Campbell is leaving for big money in Chicago? No problem! GM Doug Wilson brought in somebody even better. Personally, I can’t wait to watch this stud offensive defenseman light up the West in teal and black. A freak wrist injury marred his 2007-08, one season after he scored 20 goals for the first time and had career-highs in assists (43) and points (63). Since 2005-06, Boyle is tied for sixth among all defensemen in goals (39), 18 of those on the power play.

2007-08: 37 games, 4-21-25 (9-47-56 prorated for 82 games; with Tampa Bay) 2008-09 projection: 23-52-75
